Description
Summary
The Senior Accountant will be expected to work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of his / her work product and demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks. To be successful, the Senior Accountant will have strong and solid general accounting skills, cost accounting experience as well as acumen in financial analysis. The Senior Accountant provides assistance to the CFO with external audits, providing management reporting and assisting with special projects as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
•Perform daily accounting functions as assigned including bank and payroll tax deposits and transfer payments.
•Assist with Banking activities like setting up new accounts, requesting credit cards, bank reconciling items, banking fees, positive pay exceptions, etc.
•Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary and reconcile assigned accounts.
•Prepare, analyze and report weekly, monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis by brand by customer type.
•Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories.
•Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost and inventory, liability accounts by customer type by division.
•Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability.
•Assists in preparation of monthly management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives including “Budget vs. Actual” variance reports. Assist in providing follow-up and documentation of significant variances.
•Assist with annual external audits. Complete requested materials. Assist in preparing assigned schedules for the annual and benefit audits.
•Ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of schedules to management and financial reporting.
•Become a Navision super user. Assist with testing and receive final approval for system reports required for management, financial reporting and general ledger reconciliations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS ARE:
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance with 5-8 years of related accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
•Ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through 3 or more years of related experience
•Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles & Cost Accounting Standards
•Must be able to adapt to new and different computer programs and software to enable efficient data gathering and analysis
•Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data
•Good written, verbal communication and collaborative skills
•Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office products
•Ability to analyze and reconcile complex accounts and reserves
•Strong organizational and communicational skills
•Detail oriented
•Knowledge of Navision/Microsoft Dynamics preferred
•Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
