Description

Job Description:
Operate CNC machines on products machined for Diamond Precision Products (including pulleys, flywheels, and related machined components). Secondary work may be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
• Promotes and maintains a flexible, cooperative, team oriented, and customer focused attitude within and between departments.
• Keeps supervisors aware of pertinent issues, information, etc. warranting supervisors’ knowledge, action and/or resolution.
• Ensures proper, accurate records, files, databases, etc. are maintained, as required, within areas of responsibility.
• Operate CNC machines.
• Maintain tooling.
• Perform quality audits.
• Ensure proper inspection, i.e. first piece inspection(s) are performed and make adjustments as required.
• Perform required drilling, boring, turning, and milling operations, etc.
• Perform functions in a timely, safe, and cost effective manner.
• Ensure work area is kept clean and safe.
• Notes, reports, and corrects variations in program sequence, positioning, cycle time, etc.
• Perform preventative maintenance on CNC and other machines.
• Prepare machine for next job task.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Must have two years of experience.

Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and communicate. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to apply concepts of basic math.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Regristrations:

Fork Lift License is preferred.

Position Requirements/Skills:
• General knowledge of tooling applications and shop practices.
• Operate control console for CNC machining.
• Able to work within tolerance requirements and perform visual inspection.
• Able to use required hand tools, precision measuring instruments, etc.
• Able to work from detailed drawings, blue prints, prints, work orders, etc.

Equipment/Tools Operated:
Proficient skill in operation of CNC machines, chuckers, hand tools, precision measuring instruments, control console, etc.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud (80 to 85 DB).
