Production Supervisor

Job Overview: Must have a minimum of 3 years of Production Supervision in a manufacturing or assembly environment.  This position will oversee 2 Assistant Supervisors and 5 Line Leaders and must have the ability to manage a shift of up to 90 production workers.


Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize employees effectively and efficiently by ensuring that proper training and necessary instructions are given.

• Establish employees' daily production goals, assign tasks, and set expectations.

• Analyze and adjust employee head count daily to meet production requirements.

• Make observations/recommendations as required and provide feedback to case managers.

• Ensure that quality standards are communicated to each employee. Provide clear instruction and tools necessary to complete job safely, efficiently and on time.

• Follow-up on all productivity rates.

• Oversee preventative maintenance and clean-up upon completion of each job.

• Oversee preparation of finished product for shipment.

• Interact positively with subordinates, peers and superiors to achieve agency objectives.

• Schedule tasks to ensure high productivity and quality; and to meet customer requirements.

• Continuously review and analyze productivity to identify and implement improvements and to control/reduce costs.

• Coordinate employee training as required.

• Meet or beat the budget.

• Ensure a safe, clean work environment for all employees.

• Perform any miscellaneous duties assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises up to 100 employees in the Production Department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications Include:

• 3+ years of production supervision in Manufacturing environment. Associate's degree (A. A.); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software and Word Processing software.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record
